March 15th: Orlando, Odin’s Den w/ Henrietta + Gillian Carter

We need help getting a show in either places. If anyone can direct us to a venue or bands or a booker or someone that could help make this show happen, that would be amazing.

Update
I tend to forget we have a tumblr. I should really remember.
Anyway, for anyone that follows us on here, for your enjoyment:
Hope the holidays and the break were fun for ya! Ours were. But, now that it’s over, I came back up to Tallahassee and will be working hard, and hopefully quick, towards some goals I want to accomplish this year with Spencer. Here is a list:
- merch (shirts and new patch design)
- new songs (cover split with our buds in Europa, full-length?)
- TOUR! (more out-of town shows, SPRING BREAK TOUR)
- vinyl (idc for what. I just want to release one before I get old. Most likely for the split)
- FEST (we’ll most likely play an “off-fest” show. But, that’s enough for me! A dude’s gotta dream, right?)
As for now, we have a show this Friday at the Hidden Hand. It’s a First Friday show so expect a diverse line-up of sweet tunes. Then, idk. We haven’t booked anything else for this year, yet. During that time, we’ll be writing, planning, eating… You know, the usual.
It’s been a year since we started recording, around ten months since we started playing shows, and eons since I started playing with Spencer. A lot has occurred since we released our EP last June and we couldn’t be more grateful. So, hey, if you’re reading this: thank you. Really, really.

Straight out of Florida, Die Young Records put out their first release earlier this month in the form of a three way split featuring Henrietta, Gillian Carter and Echo Base. Bands like You Blew It! and Dikembe have given the Florida scene something to get excited about in 2012, and we’re going to add this to that list.
This record is as versatile as they come, oppening with Henrietta’s indie rock jams that have unfortunately become all too familiar and then launching into post-punk noise from Gillian Carter. Fronted by Logan Revira, whose vocals stand out way above the rest of his bandmates, GC sound like Pulled Apart By Horses would if their mum had given them way too many e numbers before recording.
Echo Base make this record. Although countless bands have attempted to get that emo we-want-to-sound-like-American-Football sound, very few have come close. With clear Kinsella influence (especially on Launchies) the final two tracks of this split make you listen and listen hard. The guitar and drum riffs evoke memories of better times, allowing the vocals to do as they please, which is a perfect blend of off tone singing and on point crescendos.
The split is out now, and will possibly be released on Vinyl next year. Listen to Echo Base’s track ‘Mike Bibby’ below and immediately buy the split for a couple of dollars here. You can also grab Echo Base’s debut EP here for whatever price you’d like.
